Privacy Policy for Pitch Plan

Effective Date: October 2026 (formerly GameTime)

This Privacy Policy explains how Pitch Plan handles information when you use the app.

1. Summary

Pitch Plan helps youth football coaches track game time, goals and results. Your teams, players and games are stored on your own device and, if you use the optional sharing and backup features, in your own Apple iCloud account. The developer does not run a server, does not collect analytics, and does not have access to your data.

2. Data Controller

The app developer is the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with the app. Where optional features use Apple services (iCloud, the App Store, notifications), Apple processes that data under its own terms and privacy policy.

3. Information You Enter

You may enter team names, players' names and shirt numbers, opponents, match details, goals, assists, substitutions and playing time. This information is stored on your device, and in iCloud only if you use the sharing or backup features described below. We recommend using first names or nicknames for players.

4. Children's Information

Pitch Plan is used by adult coaches, and the players whose details are entered are often children. As the coach, you are responsible for making sure you have any permission required (for example from parents, guardians or your club) before entering a child's details, and for keeping what you enter to the minimum you need. The app is not directed at children and is not intended to be used by them.

5. Sharing (optional)

Sharing a team with other coaches. If you share a team, its details (team, players' names and numbers, games, line-ups, goals, assists and playing time) are stored in the team owner's Apple iCloud account and kept in sync with the coaches the owner invites. Only invited coaches can see it; there is no public link. The owner can make a coach view only or remove them at any time, and invited coaches can leave. When sharing stops, the other coaches' copies are removed from their devices and the owner keeps theirs. The coach running a live game is shown to the others by the name they enter in the app.

Sharing a live game.If you choose to share a live game with other coaches, a snapshot of that game (team and opponent names, score, clock, which players are on the pitch, players' first names, minutes, goals and assists) is stored in Apple iCloud and is available to anyone you send the link to. It updates while you share. You can stop sharing at any time; other coaches can stop following in the app. Do not share the link with people who should not see this information.

6. Backups and Exports (optional)

Automatic iCloud backup is on by default: a copy of your teams is saved to your own iCloud Drive (in a “Pitch Plan” folder) after games and when you leave the app, at most every six hours. The last 10 backups are kept. You can turn this off in the app's Settings, and delete the backups in iCloud Drive at any time. The developer cannot access them.

You can also export backups, match summaries and CSV files. These are created on your device and sent only where you choose to send them (for example Files, iCloud Drive, email or messaging apps). Once sent, the recipient's service handles that copy under its own terms.

7. Notifications

Pitch Plan uses local notifications on your device, for example to tell you when a period's time is up. These are created on your device and no notification content is sent to the developer.

8. Purchases

Pitch Plan Pro subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. The developer receives no payment card details. Apple may share limited, anonymised sales information with the developer, as it does for all apps.

9. Legal Basis (UK GDPR, where applicable)

Where UK GDPR applies, processing is carried out to provide the app's features (performance of a contract) and for legitimate interests such as keeping the app working reliably.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Data stays on your device until you delete it. A shared team stays in the owner's iCloud account until the owner stops sharing or deletes the team, and iCloud backups stay in your iCloud Drive until you delete them. You can delete individual games, players or whole teams in the app, and deleting the app removes its data from your device. Live-sharing snapshots remain in iCloud until the shared game is removed or you delete the app's iCloud data in your Apple Account settings.

11. Security

We apply reasonable safeguards in the app. iCloud security is subject to Apple's measures. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

12. Your Rights

Where applicable, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to complain to your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted here with a revised effective date.
